Happy Friday!

I am happy to see another week in the books.  Work has been super busy.  I get a bit of a respite today, but next week will be a bear too.  The strategy is to clear up all those odds and ends that were put on the back burner. My goal is a sparkling clean desk by the end of the day.

My husband is back on his feet too.  He missed two days of work which he hates to do.  The cooties in the house have thrown us off our good eating track. In fact, I already messed up (but have not given up) my mini goal I set Wednesday.

I am struggling with that time from when I arrive home from work and the time we eat dinner. Due to my husband's work schedule I am home about an hour and a half before he is. I have tried having a snack when I get home, but it only seems to fuel my desire to eat.  Ugh!  I need a plan.  I am thinking about trying to get in an after work workout. The problem there is I am tired when I get home and am just looking for down time.

Tomorrow we are doing another race - the 5K Candy Corn Dash.  I am excited, yet apprehensive because I have not done the prep I would have liked.  I am confident I can walk it without a problem.  I just won't  have the time I would have liked. My husband will be running.  I was kinda hoping I could talk him into walking with me.  But he is so competitive I am not sure he could stand not running.  He has been running so well...and there are age group medals to be won :)  I am going in with the "let's have fun" mindset.  It is for a good cause and the tshirts should be cute...what more could I want??

Have a great weekend :)

  1. Sounds like a fun run!. Maybe you can squeeze a 30 minute of something in after work and then maybe try a protein shake as a snack until dinner. (I do that often... well I work out after work, then drink protein shake because I sure as heck can't manage to get my butt out of bed and do it before work!). I do find that the protein shakes are surprisingly filling!

    1. My husband does the protein shakes, but I just can't even make myself try them. I think I associate them with things like SlimFast - which I have never tried either, but can't stand the smell. I have a couple ideas for activities to occupy that time. I hope to report on their success soon :)

  2. That sounds like a very fun race - enjoy it! If I have to delay dinner I find the ONLY thing that keeps me from eating all the things everywhere is to put on a favorite show that I otherwise wouldn't allow myself to watch (Project Runway, some silly wedding show, anything girlie that my husband would hate). It feels like an indulgence and distracts me just enough. It works about 80% of the time. :D I hope you can find your go-to.

    1. Anything with candy corn has to be fun, right? Unfortunately, watching tv makes me want a snack even more. I need something that occupies my mind and hands.
