Walks and Little People Fun

This weekend was the first time we babysat our tiny niece. My husband helped her nap :)
I had told my ladies group that I was going to get in two walks this weekend. So after our little guest went home we hit the road. However, these little piggies had to stay home...

My husband and Millie went with me. I think Millie was tired after all the baby excitement. She was content to stroll.
Shadows are so much fun :)
A co-worker had given my husband a little key chain flashlight a few weeks ago.  I was playing with it while I was waiting for him and noticed this cool design it makes. My husband claims he didn't notice that before, but I think he might be playing me.
Sunday we made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up The Force Awakens. We were happily surprised it was released on DVD so soon,.
We invited our nephew to come over to watch the movie with us. Millie was quite happy to hang out with her "cousin". The best part of our weekend was that we got to spend time with each of our local nieces and nephew individually :)
We were supposed to get a hard freeze this weekend so I covered my little garden babies with a sheet. Yet another feature I like about the raised beds is they are easier to cover.
 Tiny Easter Egg radishes.
 Little bitty lettuce.
I actually didn't see any frost Saturday or Sunday morning. Then Monday morning I woke up to this (and I hadn't covered the garden).  Thankfully, everything was well in the cold crop bed - guess they call them cold crops for a reason :)

See this nice sweet puppy...
She had eaten yet another pair of my shoelaces. Thankfully just the laces this time. For some reason, she insists on continuing to chew my (never my husband's) shoes even though the puppy stage is long over. Most of the time she just nibbles and isn't completely destructive. I guess I can be thankful for that. This is my last pair of spare laces so I better pick up another pair the next time I am at the store. Pretty sure I will need them.
I told myself this year would be different - I would file my taxes early. But because I am one of those people...my taxes. After work yesterday, I ran (okay, drove) the papers over to my sister who does our taxes.
My sister and niece were preparing to go for a quick mile walk. It was a beautiful day so I jumped at the chance to hang out with them and get in a little exercise.
Green has arrived in the neighborhood :)
Can you spot the dog checking out the walkers? Apparently he has one of those buried electronic fences so he didn't eat us.
Hey, sister, who are you wearing?
You guessed it her tiny grandbaby. Such a little cutie :)
In less pleasant news, we are under a boil order until Friday. Yes, it is inconvenient, but better than no water like we have experienced a couple of times in the past few weeks. Apparently this time the utility company drilled through a water line...oops!
We are halfway through the week. How are you finishing it?

  4. I don't think I've ever been an under a boil warning, at least not since I was a kid. How annoying!

    1. One more day...I hope! We don't have dishwasher so washing dishes is the biggest inconvenience.

  5. Good job walking!

My dogs love to chew flip flops, prescription glasses and expensive Garmins.
