Fur-Cousins on the Move

Sunday afternoon, Millie and I were getting ready for a walk. We invited my sister and her dog to go with us. Millie was SUPER excited!
We talked Zommie into staying home with my husband to watch football. She loves to go for walks, but her little old legs wouldn't last the two miles. She seemed pretty happy with Plan B though :)
Millie went a little nuts when we got to my sister's house and she realized Moose was going to be walking with us. I don't think Moose was amused. I think he fancies himself to be a bit more mature than annoying "puppies".  Moose is a Great Dane mix my sister found on Craigslist. Yes, we went to some remote location to pick him up....not sure I would do that again, but thankfully this time it was legit :)  I almost got his sister, but just wasn't ready to commit to a puppy at that point.
They settled into the walking groove.
I think Millie held out hope the whole walk that Moose would decide to play with her...but he remained focused.

After one mile loop Moose was traded for Mickey. My brother-in-law found her under his work truck one day while he was working at a remote site. He lured her out with a McDonald's hamburger (which earned her her name - as in MickeyDs.) She was super skinny and covered in fleas and ticks. Many baths and meals later she is a whole new dog.
By this time, I think Millie was more or less resigned to the fact we were on a walking mission and not a playdate.

Fur cousins - Millie & Mickey.
We only did two laps. Poor Zeke (the final fur-cousin) didn't get a turn.  Maybe next time. He is getting to be an old man, so he might be more content to hang out with Zommie in the bed.
Since me niece duped me into looking for "cookie truck", I have been a little obsessed with the neighborhood trucks. How about this one...could it pass for an Oreo (or at least a generic oreo)?
I have been having some foot pain. Someone recommended freezing a bottle of water and rolling it under my foot. It feels pretty good and I think it is helping some. It feels even better on bare feet, but again I am thinking of my readers with delicate sensibilities :)  As soon as the picture was taken...off with the socks!
I have never see fresh meatballs for sale in the grocery store. I have to say Bacon Cheddar Pork Meatballs definitely got my attention...
However, I quickly put them back. That is a whole lot of fat and calories going on in there!!
Look who has arrived in the Halloween decoration aisle. No, I didn't buy one (or even two). No offense, but Chewie is a hot mess. I might have a bit of a struggle choosing between the other three. I am not really into inflatables so I guess I really don't have to choose :)  I hope my husband doesn't see them.

I pretty much failed on all my October nutritional goals...I was hit and miss on my daily commitment. I tracked the first day. I only ate out alone one time (I got a shake). But I "treated" myself more than three times - and on some totally not worth it junk. I ate decent breakfasts and lunches.

Despite my "lack of perfection" I actually ended up losing 1.8 pounds this week!  I am a little embarrassed that even though I didn't do as well as I planned, it still must have been a vast improvement over what I had been doing. And I will take that. For this week. And next week a little bit better.

In related news, 4 solid weeks of streaking!!!! I confess the other night, I almost broke it. I was super grumpy and feeling like why bother. I ended up doing some very grouchy marching in place while watching tv. I knew I would regret breaking the streak and feel even worse. And yes, I was glad when I finally completed it (and a little less grouchy). I am stubbornly clinging to that streak.

Linking up with Winter for Weigh-In Wednesday.

    1. Yep, sometimes those crazy teeth just don't fit in her beak :) I am sure they would all love to play with you too.

  5. Awesome! Don't break the streak! It's so much easier to keep not exercising once it's broken... take it from me :( I think I'm going to just break it down by months, or even just weeks, rather than looking at the WHOLE 69 days-ish that are left.

I love those inflatables. Good thing we don't have a yard, otherwise they'd definitely be coming home with me! Haha.

    1. That is exactly what I keep telling myself. Once the streak is broken the excuses to break it again will come even faster. I don't look at the days left - just the days done :)

    1. Feet are doing okay - they hurt some days more than others, but I think the rolling has helped :)

  9. Looks like you are doing good. As for the October goals... you only failed on part A. Part b...the second half of the month starts tomorrow! You can still have success!
