Okay, night before our first race. Tomorrow my husband and I are doing a 10K - he is running and I am walking. Neither of us really know what to expect for our times. I have been able to walk 15 minute miles for 3 miles and I did 16:30 miles for 6 miles last weekend. So I guess I should be somewhere in between there.
Since most people will be running the race I have been a bit anxious about potentially coming in dead last. I suppose that just gives me more room for improvement. We are already talking about doing it again next year to measure that improvement.
We have worked very hard to get ready for this race. We've been consistently exercising - we've made a habit of getting up at 5 a.m. to workout before going to work. We have been eating mostly healthy foods within our calorie budget. My husband has lost about 25 pounds and I have lost about 11 pounds. We are on our way!
Everything is laid out for the morning...clothes, bibs, sunscreen, camera. Garmin watches and cell phones are on their chargers.
Guess it is time to get to bed and hopefully get a solid night sleep. Full race report tomorrow.
Thank you for your encouragement :)
When I started this blog in 2014 I had big plans to lose the weight that corresponded to the weight of my new puppy...as she grew so would my loss. Turns out it didn't work quite like that. Four plus years later I weigh more than ever and my puppy is potentially facing surgery for an ACL injury. Here I am trying again, expanding the focus of the blog and keeping the name. Hope you will continue on the adventure with me.
