Okay, night before our first race. Tomorrow my husband and I are doing a 10K - he is running and I am walking. Neither of us really know what to expect for our times. I have been able to walk 15 minute miles for 3 miles and I did 16:30 miles for 6 miles last weekend. So I guess I should be somewhere in between there.
Since most people will be running the race I have been a bit anxious about potentially coming in dead last. I suppose that just gives me more room for improvement. We are already talking about doing it again next year to measure that improvement.
We have worked very hard to get ready for this race. We've been consistently exercising - we've made a habit of getting up at 5 a.m. to workout before going to work. We have been eating mostly healthy foods within our calorie budget. My husband has lost about 25 pounds and I have lost about 11 pounds. We are on our way!
Everything is laid out for the morning...clothes, bibs, sunscreen, camera. Garmin watches and cell phones are on their chargers.
Guess it is time to get to bed and hopefully get a solid night sleep. Full race report tomorrow.
Thank you for your encouragement :)
YOU GO GIRL !!! I know you wont see this until after, but I'm thinking about you this morning (west coast time) - You have worked hard and have a great attitude, and even if you do come in "dead last" so what ? you walked 6.2 miles !! Think about where you were just a few months ago.... and where you are today... and next year when you do this race again ?? you will say .. remember when i could only walk the whole thing ? or remember last year when i was walking a 16min mile ?? looking forward to your report !! *hugs*
