Early Morning

I FINALLY got back out for the early morning walk. It was actually really good.  I didn't have any problem with the darkness.  Maybe it was a relief after walking after work the day before. There was too much traffic craziness in the neighborhood.  Morning is so peaceful.  What a difference 12 hours makes.

I stepped out the door to a million stars. The sky was so clear I decided to take a few pictures. See if you can guess which ones I took and which ones I stole from the internet.

Orion - My favorite constellation.

Another one of Orion.

About a mile and a half into my walk I saw a guy out walking his West Highland White Terrier.  They are early birds! (Incidentally, the dog spent the whole time we were talking sniffing my legs...nice.) The guy asked if I had seen the moon.  I figured he was mentioning it because it was full (I only knew that from the night before). Nope, I was totally oblivious to the total lunar eclipse happening above my head.  It was spectacular. I was so excited I don't think I even remember the second half of my walk.  Which picture do you think is mine???

Not every workout is going to have such amazing perks.  This, however, was one of those times that I just felt really good about what I was doing. I got out of bed, got in a great walk and enjoyed a spectacular view. Six months ago this would not have happened. My lazy buns would have still been in bed and I would have missed it all.

  2. I was so mad that I missed the eclipse! Down side of not being an early bird. And Orion is my pups name! It's one of my favorite :)

    1. Orion - cute pup name. The first time I read it I thought you said Onion - less cute of a pup name :)

    1. I have gotten up in the middle of the night before to watch them and it has been too cloudy - that's a bummer. Everything worked out this time :)
